Located just off Lake George’s shores in Hammond resides Lost Marsh Golf Course, a true golfer’s paradise. This challenging course has many impressive characteristics similar to those you would see in the Carolinas. Sandy Pines Golf Club offers impressive greens and spectacular drainage coupled with a native Pine Barrens type typography. As the course was renovated back in 2004, the layout now features added ponds, bunkers, and bent grass fairways and tees. This course proves to be a fun play for golfers of any skill level. Sandy Pines is a favorite among the locals and a true hidden gem in Northwest Indiana.
White Hawk Country Club is a 36-hole facility and features four beautiful nines that present a fun and unique golfing experience at every turn. Known as one of the most premier courses in Northwest Indiana, White Hawk Country Club is beautifully carved out of 600 acres and surrounded by peaceful scenery that includes forests, prairies, streams, and wetlands.
While you are on your Northern Indiana golf trip, we recommend visiting Indiana Dunes National Park. This Indiana treasure spans more than 15,000 acres of dunes, beaches, oak savannas, swamps, bogs, marshes, prairies, and forests. Whether you enjoy scouting for rare species of birds or flying kites on the sandy beaches, the national park has something for everyone. Hikers will enjoy 50 miles of trails over rugged dunes, mysterious wetlands, sunny prairies, winding rivers, and peaceful forests.
After a long day out on the course or just for fun on a sunny afternoon, be sure to check out the South Shore Brewery Trail. The tap never runs dry along the South Shore of Lake Michigan. Come and find your favorite ale, stout or lager and dive into full-bodied beers, a hoppy IPA, or a fruity and flavorful seasonal brew. The South Shore also offers brew tours so you can ditch your keys and enjoy the trail with a group on a limo or party bus.
